Earning a Certificate in Culinary Coaching

Graduates of both CHEF Coaching the Basics (Part I, skill-based culinary coaching classes) and CHEF Coaching Beyond the Basics (Part II, small group practice sessions in culinary telemedicine) earn a “Certificate of Completion in Culinary Coaching” from the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

CHEF Coaching training is offered through Harvard Medical School or Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Same program, different benefits!

CHEF Coaching, Parts I & II: The Basics and Beyond The Basics

Live Streaming

This 10-week program consists of BOTH CHEF Coaching the Basics AND CHEF Coaching Beyond the Basics. The schedule alternates between teleclasses one week and small group training sessions the next. The tele-classes are presented on Monday evenings at 8:00 pm (ET) — recordings will be available. There are six different time options for the small group practice sessions.

Early bird pricing (CHEF Coaching the Basics together with CHEF Coaching Beyond the Basics): $840 (cost increases to $990 after July 19th, 2024). More information & registration.

 

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:

  1. Completion of CHEF Coaching the Basics within the past three years is a prerequisite to CHEF Coaching Beyond the Basics.
  2. Both CHEF Coaching the Basics and CHEF Coaching Beyond the Basics must be taken through the same organization (Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital or Harvard Medical School).
  3. For the best educational experience, it is recommended to take the two training modules consecutively.
  4. Completion of both training components is required to earn a “Certificate of Completion in Culinary Coaching” from the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

Questions & Answers

Q: I am a vegan, can I still participate in the program?

A: Yes, one of the key principles of the CHEF Coaching program is providing plant-based food cooking skills that can be applied to any diet a person follows.

Q: Do I need to have access to a kitchen?

A: Access to a kitchen is recommended during the third session of CHEF Coaching Beyond the Basics.  During the session you will log on from your kitchen, using the same video conference setup used in the other sessions, and cook with the CHEF Coaching faculty. Between classes participants are encouraged to practice new skills and recipes in their kitchen.

Q: What if I have a conflict during one of the sessions and need to reschedule?

A: CHEF Coaching the Basics teleclasses are recorded and available for viewing during the course. Small group practice sessions are not recorded. Rescheduling is permitted on a one-to-one basis.

Q: Is it possible to participate from outside the United States?

A: Yes, there are several options for participating in the CHEF Coaching program online. Please refer to the 2024 CHEF Coaching Brochure
